“Heard the Mann Ki Baat Programme of 30^th June 2019. Really felt happy and proud when the work of Akshara library in the adivasi colony of Idamalakkudi of Idukki district was appreciated in the programme. The Prime Minister showered accolades on P.K. Muraleedharan, school teacher and Chinnathambi the tea shop owner both of whom had ventured out to pursue the activities of the library. He had opined that one should give book instead of bouquet in meetings. The PM had concluded his speech saying water conservation was the need of the hour and people should propagate the concept in the form of Janshakthi-Jalshakthi. Let’s await his next speech. “

Scale of Pay: Pay Matrix Level 15 (Rs. 1,82,200- 2,24,100) (As per 7th CPC).
Duties and Responsibilities: Director General, IIMC is the academic, professional and administrative Head of the Institute. He/ She co-ordinates and exercises the general supervision over all research, training, refresher courses, seminars and other activities carried or held under or by the Society. Like other members of the faculty, he/she undertakes teaching for training courses and guides research work in the institute. The Director General, also functions as the Member Secretary of the IIMC Society and its Executive Council. He/ She further exercises all such powers as may be delegated to him/her by the Executive Council.
